Greetings Members, Supporters, and Followers,
Leading this organization alongside VP Frank Locantore, Secretary Anna De Witt, and Treasurers Jonathan Pira and Nolan Hahn has been a profoundly meaningful honor and I am so proud of what we've accomplished.
Parking requirements no longer exist in the City and County of Denver. We endorsed a host Denver City Council and state legislative candidates; most of them won. We endorsed Mike Johnston for Mayor of Denver, and he won. Cities across Colorado must legalize transit-oriented development, ADUs, and single-stair buildings under new state laws. Tenant protections are stronger. Rents are now more affordable in Denver because we got housing built. Missing middle multiplexes are on the table city wide thanks to our efforts in advancing Denver's Unlocking Housing Choices project. And last month, we put on a forum with Senator Bennet and Attorney General Weiser to ensure that housing policy remains a top priority of the next gubernatorial administration.
There is a lot of yet work to do and I will continue to do so as a regular Lead. Under the leadership of our twelve member Leads Council and its new Steering Committee members, Kevin Matthews, David Pardo, Robert Greer, and Frank Locantore, I have never been more confident of YIMBY Denver's ability to influence the course of the future. Under a dark national backdrop, Denver has the opportunity to show the country that these problems are not intractable and that if we work together, we can ensure everyone has access to an affordable, sustainable, and dignified place to call home.
Thank you for all you do. Onward!
