YIMBY Denver Says Goodbye to Co-Founder Adam Estroff and Other Big Changes!

YIMBY Denver's President Adam Estroff has stepped down from that position to run for Denver City Council District 7 seat. Thanks to Adam for his years of service and YIMBY Denver can't wait to work with him on council! Happily, the board unanimously voted to bring in YIMBY Denver Secretary Ryan Keeney as the new president. Chris Miller will be taking over as secretary. and in other news...

YIMBY Denver has been in the process of merging with the national YIMBY Action organization for some time. As partners, we already make use of their Slack and their membership platform. We believe that continuing to become more closely integrated as a chapter will help us become more effective in our pro-housing advocacy.

Ryan's biggest task ahead is to complete YIMBY Denver's evolution into one of YIMBY Action's full fledged chapters and to chart our course forward after that point. With some fundraising work and some luck, this transition will help us to hire a staff organizer by the end of the year. People power is political power, so even with staff to help us organize, we will still need to do the agitating to legalize housing in every Denver neighborhood and to overturn housing bans that are contributing to our affordability and climate crises.

Looking forward to the adventures ahead!
